About the Exhibition
This art exhibition is themed around Hōjōki, an essay written in Japan in the early 13th century. Hōjōki is a literary achievement offering deep reflection on impermanence and the transience of life in its era, and this exhibition seeks to reinterpret that impermanence and way of life through an artistic lens. It brings together traditional Japanese architecture and works by contemporary architects, exploring architectural imagination and practice inspired by Hōjōki. Organized into 12 sections, the exhibition runs from August 28, 2026 to January 11, 2027. Visitors can experience reflections on life and impermanence through architectural ideas inspired by Hōjōki and their contemporary interpretation.
