About the Exhibition

Using moving image as a device, this exhibition newly reconstructs the history and sensibility of communities through processes of recording, re-presentation, and rewriting. Organized to mark the 10th anniversary of the ACC, it begins from the premise that Asia's modern and contemporary history has arrived at the present through colonization and division, revolution and development, censorship and resistance. Numerous artists take part, including Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, Nguyễn Trinh Thi, Han Okhee, Kim Soyoung, Mariam Tafakory, Lim Goeun, Jangae Yeoseong Gonggam, Kim Dongryung × Park Kyoungtae, Takashi Ito, and Gwangju Theater, reconstructing the memories and communal narratives formed by multiple Asias through experimental film and video art.
