About the Exhibition
New Acquisitions Report is an exhibition that transparently presents to the public the works the Daegu Art Museum acquired in 2025, showing 28 of the 71 works collected in total. The direction of this year's acquisitions was set toward Daegu's modern art and 1980s art, reflecting the need to expand the collection following the opening of the Modern Art permanent gallery. Modern art works introduced include Seo Dong-jin's Factory Landscape, Park Myeong-jo's Self-Portrait, and Jeong Jeom-sik's Hat, while, noting the trend of new imagery emerging in 1980s Daegu art, acquired works by Kim Il-hwan, Park Yong-jin, Song Gwang-ik, and Lee Guk-bong are also presented. Kwon Oh-bong's Untitled, Lee Gi-chil's Dwelling, and Wael Shawky's Love Story — his first commissioned work in Asia — are also on view, alongside donated works from 2025 by the bereaved families of Kang Woon-seop and Jeong Chi-hwan, as well as donations from Kwak Hoon, Baek Rak-jong, Seo Dong-gyun, and others.
