The Story

Lee Ufan is a leading abstract painter of Korean contemporary art, widely known for a style that deeply explores the relationship between nature and humanity. His work conveys visual balance and emotional depth at once through simple forms, and has led an important current in Korean abstract art since the 1980s. "Dialogue" is a work reflecting his signature style of "the voice of space," symbolizing a dialogue between the viewer and the work and inducing artistic reflection. Its sale price of 1.6 billion won at Seoul Auction shows that Lee Ufan's work still carries high artistic value and market popularity, while also serving as an occasion to reaffirm the historical position of Korean abstract art.
