About the Artist
Robert Delaunay was a French painter born in Paris in 1885 and died in 1941. A leading figure of Simultanism (Orphism), he developed a distinctive style emphasizing the harmony of color and form. Delaunay was influenced by Fauvism and Cubism but developed them further through his own color-centered approach. He is regarded as a pioneering figure who opened the path toward abstraction, focusing on the rhythm of color and abstract composition.
