Frida Kahlo was born in Mexico in 1907 and died in 1954; she was a painter representative of Magical Realism. She is known for an intense painting style centered on her own physical pain, identity, and the experience of women. Her masterpiece "Self-Portrait" is well known for symbolically expressing her physical pain and identity.
