Canaletto, born in Venice in 1697 and died in 1768, was an Italian painter. A leading figure of Rococo, he worked mainly in Venice, painting primarily cityscapes. His work is marked by refined composition and vivid color, naturally blending realistic urban scenery with imaginative elements. He painted views of Venice, London, Warwick Castle, and other locations, also showing great skill in etched prints. Signature works include landscape paintings of Venice's streets and canals, reflecting his refined eye and the beauty of the city.
