Jackson Pollock

About the Artist

Jackson Pollock was born in Wyoming in 1912 and died in 1956; he was an American painter and a leading figure of Abstract Expressionism. Working in New York, he gained great attention for developing the original technique known as action painting. He completed his works by dripping and pouring paint, treating the artistic act itself as art. This technique reflected his artistic identity and became an important turning point for Abstract Expressionism. His masterpiece "Autumn Rhythm" clearly demonstrates his distinctive style.
