Berthe Morisot was born in France in 1841 and died in 1895, an Impressionist painter active mainly in Paris. She played an important role in the Impressionist movement, drawing attention as a woman artist who exhibited alongside male painters. Morisot took part in numerous Impressionist exhibitions, notably participating in the first Impressionist exhibition in 1874, which established her influence. Her work is marked by warm color capturing natural light and everyday scenes. In 1894, critic Gustave Geffroy introduced her as one of the 'three great women' of Impressionism.
