Alan Bean

About the Artist

Alan Bean was an American naval officer, astronaut, and painter, born in 1932 and died in 2018. He majored in aeronautical engineering and served as a naval aviator before being selected as a NASA astronaut, contributing to a Moon landing. After his spaceflight career ended, he continued his artistic activity, creating paintings themed on space based on his own experiences. His work offers a distinctive perspective combining space exploration with human experience. He is also known as the last surviving astronaut of the Apollo 12 mission.
